OREPA to challenge NNSA’s new bomb plant decision

We need your help!

At a special called meeting on Monday, October 5, OREPA’s Board of Directors, after reviewing our options carefully, decided to ask Judge Pamela Reeves to vacate the NNSA’s new, hasty, completely vacuous Amended Record of Decision and require NNSA to complete the environmental analysis ordered by the Judge in late September before continuing with their enriched uranium plan.

We have engaged Eubanks & Associates LLC, the law firm that won our two-year battle against NNSA, to pursue enforcement of the judge’s decision.

While our legal firm has graciously offered us a significant non-profit discount and established a maximum cap on the fees we will be charged, we still need to raise approximately $20,000 for this legal challenge. We are asking people who are able to invest in this effort to put teeth in the judge’s ruling to make a donation today”you can make a secure donation with paypal or a credit card by clicking the Donate button here. Or you can mail a check to OREPA, P O Box 5743, Oak Ridge, TN 37831.

Winning the lawsuit was a great accomplishment, and it was a group effort”hundreds of people contributed to our crowd-funding effort. We believe this next step is necessary to make our victory meaningful. Please join us if you can!

Thanks!

Sunday Vigil at Y-12 in Oak Ridge Tennessee

Sunday Vigil

OREPA has held Sunday vigils every week for more than 22 years at the main entrance to the Y-12 Nuclear Weapons Complex (intersection of Scarboro Rd and East Bear Creek Road). We will now be holding the vigil at 4:00PM ET during the winter months so we don’t have to be sitting out in the dark. We are outdoors and space our chairs; when covid numbers are up, we encourage people to wear masks. Bring your own chair, we have some umbrellas for sun shade or rain.
